I’m Nikayla Williams, but you can call me Nix (or Nixxy, if you’re feeling extra friendly). I was born and raised in sunny Las Vegas, NV, during the era of the dot-com bubble — an era where I spent my days playing outside and coding MySpace backgrounds with my friends. My love for technology and design grew from there, and eventually, I found myself craving a corner of the internet to call my own — a space where I could share, create, and talk about anything that sparked my interest.

And that’s how A Ladies Lounge was born. It’s a cozy corner on the web for women in their “prime years” (because let’s be real — we’re always in our prime!) to unwind, learn, and find practical solutions to the everyday joys and struggles of womanhood. Whether it's mental and physical health, beauty tips, travel spots, new hobbies to try, or fashion advice, this space is all about celebrating the multifaceted woman that you are. Here, you’ll find real, relatable advice, inspiration, and empowerment to live your best, most authentic life — plus a little bit of fun, because honestly, life’s too short not to enjoy the ride.

So grab a cup of tea (or coffee, or wine — no judgment!) and make yourself at home.

And since you’re in my humble online abode, it’s only polite I tell you a little bit about myself. I’m currently serving in the United States military, which keeps me on my toes, but when I’m not working on my career or this blog, you can find me scrolling through Tumblr and Pinterest, daydreaming about the future I’m creating. I’m also a proud plant mom at the moment — but I’m definitely hoping to grow my little family in the future.

I have a passion for community service and joined Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. during my undergrad years at Virginia State University, where I earned my bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering technology. If I could change one thing about the world, it would be world peace — where we all just get along.

I also have a love for travel, and I’ve been fortunate enough to explore places like Italy, France, Britain, Mexico, Canada, Switzerland, Spain, and Vatican City. One of my favorite quotes to live by is: “Force the world to deal with you, not its ideal of you” by James Baldwin. If you want to know random facts about me like my favorite color and food, hover over my picture in the middle. Thanks for reading, talk to you soon! xx
